Commission applies to room revenue for completed stays and to cancellation or no-show penalties actually retained. Free cancellations and penalties not collected carry no commission. Tourist tax and extras paid at the property are not included.
FAQ
How much does it cost to join?
Nothing. There is no subscription — only a 12% commission on room revenue for completed stays and on retained penalties.
What exactly is the commission charged on?
Only on money you actually receive. For a stay — on room revenue, whether the guest paid online or at your property. For a cancellation with a penalty or a no-show — only on the part of the penalty retained from the guest’s online payment; if the guest was paying at the property and no penalty was collected, there is no commission. Free cancellations carry no commission. If you cancel a booking yourself, the guest gets a full refund and you pay a penalty equal to the commission on that booking.
When do I get paid for online payments?
After the guest arrives, the money goes into the weekly payout to your account in tenge. If the guest pays at the property, you get the money right away and pay the commission by a monthly invoice.
Who can join?
Hotels, hostels, guest houses, apartments, sanatoriums, resorts and glamping sites registered as a company or sole proprietor.
Can I close sales on dates or change prices?
Yes, any time — in the cabinet calendar or in the app. You can also set a minimum stay and closed-to-arrival days.
Who sets the cancellation terms?
You do. In the cabinet you choose how many days before arrival and until what time cancellation is free, and the penalty after that and for a no-show. Guests see the date and time in your property’s time zone, and the terms are fixed in the booking when it is made — later changes do not affect it.
How does the tourist tax work?
You switch it on and set it up: the rate (a percentage of room revenue or an amount per guest per night), who pays — foreigners only or everyone — and whether children are exempt. Guests see the tax as a separate line and pay it at your property. QonaqBook does not collect or remit the tax — the platform is not a tax agent.
What about foreign guests and eQonaq?
Guests enter passport details when booking, and you see them in the booking. The cabinet shows submission deadlines, exports the list and sends a morning reminder.
I have several properties and staff
All properties are in one cabinet. Staff can get access with different rights: manager, reception, accountant.
I also sell rooms myself — what about double bookings?
Sold a room directly? Record an “Own booking” in the cabinet or the app: the room is taken off sale on QonaqBook for those dates and returns after check-out or cancellation. It only records your direct sales: no commission, QonaqBook takes no part in payments with the guest and sends the guest nothing.
What if the internet goes down at the property?
Bookings keep coming — rooms are kept on our server. The app works over mobile data and shows arrivals saved before the outage, and every morning we email a printable PDF of arrivals and departures. We recommend a backup connection — a mobile router or a phone hotspot.
